Based on the painting Winged Figure by Abbott Handerson Thayer, I designed this dress:

It’s a simple long dress out of a crepe back satin.  The back is gathered and hand stitched.  It was for a project in my Design Studio class – two designs inspired by a painting.  Up next, a white skirt and gold top.

It looks even better on a real person (just like the vest in my last post), and now I just need an excuse to wear a long white dress – I wish I knew more people who threw formal parties….
